Plumb Island
Plumb Island is a tiny islet of about an acre in the north of the Isles of Scilly, between St Martin’s and Teän, in the shallow channels at the northern end of the archipelago.
Landscape

The islet is low granite with a little turf, surrounded at low tide by sandbars and seaweed-covered rocks. White Island and St Martin’s lie close by to the east, with Teän and St Helen’s to the west.
More about Plumb Island
The northern islands of Scilly are a maze of islets, bars and channels that change with every tide, and many, like Plumb Island, were part of a single larger island until rising seas separated them.
Visiting

There is no landing on Plumb Island. It can be seen from St Martin’s and from boats in the channels. You can collect Plumb Island as a sighting in your Island Passport.
Wildlife and area
Grey seals, oystercatchers and common terns are found around the islet. Nearby islands include White Island, Teän and Round Island.
